About Michael Leone
My Experience
I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Art & Design with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I have been fortunate to have worked in advertising, internet, gaming, print and digital media for over 20 years. From independent design studios and internet startups to blue chip global corporations, my experience working with people has shaped me into the designer I am today.
My Skillset
Throughout my career I have learned a variety of hard skills, like developing expert level design software proficiency, as well as the more nuanced and personal soft skills. My top three skills are my intentional way of listening, my passion to create great designs that produce great results, and my desire to make a positive impact. These skills have proven to deliver on the project goals, provide a uniquely creative solution and produce dynamic results.
My Goals
I am looking for an opportunity to work and grow in a challenging and creative environment that thrives on teamwork yet recognizes the impact of an individual. I want to align myself with a company I believe in and where I can create positive change. I am always looking to learn more, mentor young talent, and I am eager to take on new challenges.
Work with a Designer from Maui?
Yes, I live on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that is over 2,000 miles away from the nearest continent. And yes, I typically work in my board shorts. However, I successfully worked for Microsoft for over 8 years working from Maui, and I know how to make my remote status an advantage that benefits all parties.
